.: We open up on a close up of Vigilante’s face, as we pull out we see that Vigilante has a cigarette hanging in his mouth as he is leaning against the hood of his truck. It appears to be late in the evening and Vigilante is in an empty parking lot. Instead of his standard black leather jacket and blue jeans, Vigilante is wearing jeans and a dark blue Chargers number 55 jersey. He stares out into the night as he takes a drag from his cigarette.
You know I used to come here when I was younger, of course then this place was Jack Murphy stadium. It wasn’t easy being a Chargers fan growing up, I was a little to young to remember the glory days with Fouts and Winslow. But in 1990 things started to change when the Chargers selected a young linebacker out of USC named Junior Seau. Two years later for the first time in nine yeas the Chargers made the playoffs, two years after that the Superbowl. They never put it together enough to win the whole thing, but it was still fun coming to this stadium and watching one of the best linebackers from my generation play for my favorite team.
I grew up less than two hours north of here I used to come down here to watch the Chargers, sometimes the Padres, even though I have always been more of an Angels and Dodgers fan when it comes to baseball, but as far as football goes, it has always been the Chargers for me. This place was filled with cars and trucks and people out here tailgating. People like to say that California fans aren’t passionate, that we are to laid back, don’t care enough, don’t make enough noise. Well we are laid back, but you can’t say that we aren’t passionate, this place used to be packed with blue and white and gold jerseys, and a good majority of them were for number 55. Today there are still a lot of number 55 jerseys here, but this time there isn’t much to cheer about.
Vigilante takes another drag from his cigarette as he looks at a small memorial with dozens of posters of support and love, photos of a man now gone, jerseys, candles, cards, memorabilia are all lined up in a little shrine to the late great 55, Junior Seau.
I remember spending a lot of time with my cousin growing up, he lives in Oceanside, that is where Junior lived. Years later after I got into wrestling I met the man, it wasn’t anything special, just a brief meeting at a local supermarket. I mentioned that I was a huge fan of his, and he congratulated me on my most recent victory, I remember as he was leaving he said “Good luck buddy”. Buddy, he always called everybody buddy, I don’t know if it was because he wasn’t good with names, or he just wanted everybody to feel like he was your friend. And everybody did.
Thats why I came down here tonight, I had to say my goodbyes to somebody who without knowing it meant a lot to me growing up. He brought me great joy many times when I was younger. That is how I am going to remember Junior Seau. So now here I am, now at Qualcomm Stadium, adding my thoughts and prayers to the thousands that felt like they knew this larger than life man.
Vigilante takes another drag from his cigarette and turns his back to the make shift shrine and bows his head over the hood of his truck. He comes around and now stands besides the drivers side door.
So here I find myself once again before yet another big match. A new place but a lot of old faces, and the man that will be standing across the ring from me is a man that I am familiar with. A small smiles crosses Vigilante’s face. You know Damage you and I, we have a lot of fun before our match. All of our singing and dancing and carrying on and what not. But I know then the chips are down and we are standing inside that ring, surrounded by live wires. I know that we both will be all business. We are both old veterans in this game, we have been around the block. This isn’t our first big shot and it isn’t going to be our last. So lets get down to business here Damage.
Vigilante gives a tug to his goatee and takes another drag from his cigarette.
You have already bested me once Damage as far as I am concerned you can consider yourself lucky just to have accomplished that much. I will be damned if I am going to let you walk over me again. Everywhere I go Damage I go with one thing on my mind. Complete and total domination, so I think that it is very fitting that the first show that I am on in the OW is titled Domination. I came here to dominate this place from the top to the bottom, as far as I am concerned you are at the top. I don’t really care where I start, I have no problem starting at the top, got get it out of the way at some point.
I want that title Damage, I want it so bad that I can smell it. I don’t know what it is with me, but I love gold. I don’t care if that makes me sounds like a second rate villain from a Mike Myers movie, it is the truth. You can look at this match however you want, good versus evil, the justice league versus the legion of doom, it doesn’t matter to me. What it comes down to is me versus you. And I know that you are one hell of a competitor, I have learned that first hand. But I also know myself, I know myself better than anybody else, I know what I am capable of. I am going to bring everything that I have to Domination. I have survived bigger, stronger, faster men then you before and I will survive you. I am going to prove to you what I already know, I am going to prove to you and everybody else that I have what it takes to be a champion. So bring it on Damage, I want you to bring everything you have, I want you to give everything that you have. And them I am going to show you that no matter how good you are, I am just that much better. Vigilante holds up his right hand and shows about an inch between his thumb and index finger.
Now I know that I have been pretty serious here, you know I had one last song written for you and well I had a whole little studio session set up. But I had to come here tonight, I had to come back to this place one last time, and I had to say my goodbyes. I had a whole little musical number set up, but I can still make it work here.
Vigilante takes a final drag from his cigarette before dropping it onto the ground. He turns around and reaches into the truck and pulls out a ukulele.
Now this song wasn’t really meant for a ukulele, but Junior considered himself a pretty good ukulele player, so I thought this might be fitting.
Vigilante starts strumming, the tune is the theme song to Saved By the Bell.
I tried to give you fore warning
Soon your fans will be mourning
I don’t think you’ll get up this time
You don’t have a good outlook
I think I’ll give your legs a hook
I’m in the corner with my hand raised high
Its all right cause I got the belt
I told you I was the best
Now your head is all a mess
And your body tells you that you lost the fight
Now you are struggling for air
I think you gave your fans a scare
I think your going to the hospital for the night
Its alright cause Vig has the belt.
I say Its alright cause I have the belt!
Vigilante smiles as he stops strumming and walks over to the shrine and kneels down and lays the ukulele down. As he walks back towards his truck his eyes are locked on the camera.
Domination Damage, the song and dance is over. You be ready for the fight of your life, I know I am.
Vigilante walks past the camera and gets into his truck. The truck and the headlights head towards the camera before a sharp U-turn and we see tail lights driving away. The scene fades to black as the logo of Domination appears. :.
