I sat in the drive way of the burning house.. Back against one of the columns that lined the long entrance. I was far enough away to not catch myself on fore yet I was sweating my ass off. I really wish Remmi would hurry up, I'm not found of heat.
Let me back up as to why I'm in front of Brooklyn's house.
She at the center of all of this shit and what pisses me off the most was I wanted to stay out of this. I knew drama was going to follow to Odyssey... I was just hoping I'd be able to sit back and watch it.
Remmi... however thought otherwise. She feels responsible and because of that I drove to a burning house.
'That's not the only reason.' I looked up with a smile before I saw a set of lights speed towards me.
"No.. It's not, here's my other reason for being here." I say that as a BMW M3 skids to a stop. As soon as I was standing Devlin was out of the car and I was stopping him in the drive way.
"What are you doing here Nero?"
"Same thing you are. I'm not letting you go in there."
"She's my sister, -you- can't stop me."
"We can fight it out if you want but I came here because I had to know. Devlin... She's not in there."
"How can you possibly know that? I warned you Nero if you had anything to do with this."
That's when I noticed the nice little shot gun in his hand. My guess was in case he had company when he showed up.
'Do we count as company?'
"No."
"No?"
"Sorry Remmi's asking questions. Devlin, you know I don't have anything to do with this. I had to see if she was.." Hell I couldn't even finish the sentence.
"How do you know she isn't dead Nero?"
"Remmi." He looked at me confused. I could always show him how I knew, but I wasn't willing to give away my secret. "Just trust me Dev... It would be suicidal to lie to you. Not to mention it would ruin one of my longest lasting friendships." I grab the shot gun and he lets me as he stares at the fire.
"I'm going to-" He words were cut short as another car showed up. I didn't catch the type, it parked next to Devlins. He quickly ran over to it, so I'm guessing he knew the car. I was now lost.
"Kate what are you doing here? Where's Chris?"
'Oh fuck.' I just nodded my head, agreeing.
"I wanted to make sure you didn't hurt yourself and he's in the car." She was quiet and I could barely hear her. Devlin quickly took her in his arms. I sat the shot gun down in the grass and took my seat again. This was not my place, I just wanted to stop him from running into the fire.
"You shouldn't be here."
"Is she?"
"No, Nero says she isn't there."
"Thank god." She looked up at Devlin and I could tell she came for more than just that. "Devlin, I love you. I know you wanted to come help Hayden and Bathory... but this too much."
'Is she about to?'
"Yep." I whispered as Kate continued.
"I want you to quit. Before you get yourself killed. I've never told you what to do with wrestling. I'm ok with the injuries and the normals risks, I knew what I signed up for when we got together."
"Kate."
"Devlin. They kidnapped Bathory I know she's family but do I have to sit back and watch them destroy you?"
"Devlin, you should listen to her." He turned back to me as I stood up. "It's only a matter of time before Brooklyn goes after Kate."
"That will be the last thing any of them ever do."
"Than nip it in the ass now."
"I will help Hayden and Lilith find Bathory." I wanted to kick Remmi... but that would result in strange looks...
