Dis Hat or Dat Hat?

[Vigilante]

.: The scene opens the inside of Vigilante’s house. We appear to be in some sort of trophy room. Vigilante is standing in front of a full length mirror looking at himself in the mirror. He has on his normal blue jeans and black leather jacket. He tilts his head from side to side examining himself. He reaches behind him and into a large black bag and pulls out a black baseball cap. He puts it on and starts playing with the fit.

Some people say that the clothes make the man. Some people think that it is all about how you accessorize. So I figured I would try to spice up my own appearance and what better way then to start small, a new hat perhaps.

Vigilante gives a shake of his head and takes off the cap and throws it to the side. He then pulls out a straw cowboy hat and plays with the fit.

At Domination I came out and I did exactly what I said I was going to do. I came out there and I brought everything that I had, I left it all out there in the ring. And I walked away with not only a victory but more importantly the OW Gladiator Championship. And I wrote the next chapter in the Vigilante and Damage book, but something tells me that story isn’t over yet.

But it looks like my next chapter is going to get started with a guy named “The Mad Hatter” Big Daddy P. It looks like this might be a week of first. This is going to mark my first match as the Gladiator Champion. And you can go ahead and take this to the bank, it isn’t going to be the last. I am afraid we are just at the begging of that chapter, and it is a long as chapter. The reign of Vigilante is just getting started, everybody better go ahead and get comfortable now. Anybody has to use the restroom, get it out of the way now because this is going to be a long trip with no stops. This is also of course the very first OW Oracle, so that in and of itself is a momentous occasion. And it is also going to be a special night for the man standing across the ring from me. P is going to be making his OW debut, that is a big night for any superstar. I just feel bad for the guy that he got put into a match that he has no chance to win. I mean they just tossed this poor guy right onto the tracks of an oncoming train. And I don’t intend to stop, I’m just going to run his poor ass over and hopefully he survives to fight another day.

Vigilante takes off the cowboy hand and tosses it to the side. He turns around and pulls out dark gray fedora and plays with the fit.

So now I get this Mad Hatter character, which I don’t know nothing about. I am sure this guys has a whole bunch about hats, maybe he would be able to help me pick out the right one. But beyond that I really don’t know anything about this guy. Some guys might be nervous about going into a match without knowing anything about their opponent. But you see that is where I am different from a lot of guys in this business. Because I really don’t care much about who my opponent is. I have been in this business long enough and I have had the opportunity to stand across the the ring from all sorts of characters. I have gone up against men and women, I have gone up against more than one opponent. I have faced all sorts of styles from MMA fighters, to high flyers to technical wrestlers to brawlers. I have taken on plenty of rookies and plenty of veterans. And I have beaten them all, big or small, short or tall, I have beaten them all. I believe in myself and my ability that I don’t really care who is standing across from me. So while I don’t really know much about this Mad Hatter character, I know all that I need to know. Next week at Oracle, he is the one that is going to be in the ring with me. And that means that he is the next guy that I have to beat.

Vigilante gives another shake of his head and tosses the fedora across the room. Next he pulls out a black top hat with a red ribbon across the base. He gives his goatee and tug as he adjust the hat.

So my message to Grand Master P is enjoy this moment, live in this moment, because come Oracle I am going to burst your bubble and bring you back to reality. So for now live it up because for now you are undefeated, for now there isn’t a soul that can touch you. But once you step into the ring with me on Oracle everything is going to change. After Oracle nothing is going to be the same, no longer will you be undefeated, no longer will you have that little twinkle in your eye, no longer will you have that little hope that maybe you can pull it out. After Oracle the only thing that is going to be left is certainty. The certainty that you just aren’t good enough, the certainty that no matter how hard you try you just don’t have what it takes to get it done. The certainty that you are just no match for the man, the myth, the legend that is Vigilante. So lets just go ahead and put the final sentence on that chapter. Welcome to the OW Hatter, this is the best that you are going to feel. At Oracle the only thing that you have to look forward to is pain and plenty of it, and after Oracle everything is just going to go down hill. So go ahead and enjoy this time that you have, because this is the best that you are going to be feeling here in the OW.

Vigilante takes the top hat and sends it sailing across the room. He turns around and pulls out a black beanie with the “Pantera” logo on it. He tilts his head and nods, seeming to like this look as he makes some adjustments.

Now don’t get offended there Hatter, don’t get your panties in a bunch. I am not looking past you, I mean I know miracles can happen. But I have never really been one to put my faith in somebody other than myself. I believe that we make choices in our life, and that we make our own future. And I know that in my future, well it doesn’t involve losing to you. I am meant for bigger and better things here in the OW. You my friend are just a speed bump on my road to the top of this place. And I don’t even slow down for speed bumps, I just roll right over them. And that is exactly what I am going to do come Oracle. And there ain’t a damn thing that you can do about it. You are more than welcome to try, and I hope that you do. It makes it more fun for me then if you just lay down and let me run over you. Go ahead and put up a struggle it might give me something to laugh about afterwards.

Vigilante finally gives a little grunt and tosses the beanie to the side. Getting frustrated he pulls out a pack of cigarettes from inside his coat pocket and lights one up.

You know I guess some guys just can’t accessorize.

A smile comes across Vigilante’s face as he leaves the room. He quickly comes in with the OW Gladiator title draped across his right shoulder. He takes in a drag from his cigarette. And takes a look at himself in the mirror.

Now there we go, you see now that is what I call accessorizing. You can go ahead and put on all your hats P but the one thing that you can’t put on is this. Vigilante slaps the title on his shoulder. This is something that is very hard to get your hands on, and I am afraid that it has just become harder. I don’t give up titles easily. I capture them everywhere I go and I just tend to collect them. I am the first Gladiator Champion that the OW has, I guess now it is time to see who is man enough to come and take this title from me. It is something much easier said then done. I have no plans of letting go of this anytime soon. Listen up to me P, I know that you are dreaming, saying to yourself that you can do it. But trust me brother you can’t, you don’t stand a chance, just keep on dreamin man. Just know that come Oracle I am going to have to wake your ass up, and I ain’t going to be gentle about it. You are going to see first hand why I am the Gladiator Champion. So you go ahead and bring your lucky hat down to the ring, and I’ll bring this.

Vigilante holds up the title.

Vigilante puts the title back down on his shoulder and takes another drag from his cigarette. He gives his goatee a tug and cracks his neck as he turns his back to the camera and walks out of the room. The scene fades to black. :.
